My work follows themes of minimalist architecture, shapes and symmetry, and experimentation with natural lighting. I took inspiration from Bauhaus and modernist movement photographers like Barbara Kasten, Kathy Ryan, and Henry Callahan to inspire the type of commonplace objects and scenes in my work. For this project, the architectural forms and interior environments were all taken on college campuses in Boston, Massachusetts. My work aims to depict contrasts and highlight harmonies between architectural and natural forms. This is done using harsh industrial lines and soft natural lighting within a composition. In addition, the incorporation of light and shadows also plays a role in creating this distinction.
